Apr 29, 2026"A local, low profile restaurant not far from the crystal palace garden. The francesinha was the right size, with not too much sauce. You can always top up the sauce for free, and they're also generous with the cheese. The beef steak was also nice with the right amount of chips."

I also saw them peeling potatoes which alot of restaurants in porto have frozen/pre cut fries. Service was great as well!!"

Having enjoyed the experience and the francesinha, we looked for it again, having just completed the Camino Portugues. Somehow we managed to find it again. Again we shared the francesinha. which meant they added a fried egg on each half. We followed with a sangria, a cafe and a pasta de nata. We shared our story with the server. He said the gentleman who owned the cafe had recently passed away but his wife continued to run the cafe with family members. He brought us a small aperitif to end our meal. A wonderful experience at a genuine Porto cafe."
